Bring together Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst commanders with community stakeholders to encourage positive communication and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Help the public comprehend the significance of this key military installation in terms of national security as well as the commitment and daily sacrifices made by military personnel and their families.
Advocate for the needs of service members and military families who live in the Mercer County area.
Identify veterans living in our towns, ascertain their needs and improve their quality of life by connecting them with social services and employment opportunities.
Assist JB MDL with community outreach by helping to organize base tours and speaking engagements for business, civic and education groups.
Host networking events at which Mercer County area businesses can meet JB MDL procurement agents and pursue economic opportunities with the base.
Run job fairs for military spouses, veterans and reservists.
Hold various fundraisers to purchase items that collectively enhance the social and emotional well-being of active-duty service members and families living on base.
Organize events that celebrate military life. Such events include: an annual Military Appreciation Dinner for service members, base commanders and spouses; a Holiday Luncheon for military families; and an essay contest for the children of service members during Military Kids Month.
Encourage Mercer County municipalities and businesses to participate in Gov. Murphy’s “We Value Our Veterans” Community Award program and assist in the implementation.

Historical Sites & Special Events in Mercer County
Did you know Mercer County has a rich military history? The county is home to dozens of historical sites, including Princeton Battlefield State Park and the Old Barracks Museum in Trenton. We commemorate our past with annual reenactments of George Washington's Crossing of the Delaware River and Revolutionary War battles. There's even a Colonial Ball during Patriots Week. Come relive our nation's history right where it happened.
